ශ්‍රී ලංකාවේ ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදයට ගෝඨාබය රාජපක්ෂගෙන් සහ ඔහු පිටුපස සිටින අන්තවාදී බලවේගවලින් මතුවී ඇති පැහැදිලි සහ ආසන්න අනතුර සලකා බලා,
ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ පරාජය කිරීමට වැඩිම හැකියාව ඇති හංසයා ලකුණෙන් ඉදිරිපත්වන නව ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී පෙරමුණේ අපේක්ෂකයාට සහාය දෙන ලෙස එක්සත් වාමාංශික පෙරමුණේ මධ්‍යම කාරක සභාව පාක්ෂිකත්වයෙන් සහ ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටී.
ජනාධිපති නීතිඥ ආචාර්ය ජයම්පති වික්‍රමරත්න පාර්ලිමේන්තු මන්ත්‍රීවරයා ජාතික සංවිධායක ධූරය දරන 'එක්සත් වාමාංශික පෙරමුණ' මිට ඉහතදී තීරණය කර තිබුනේ, ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ අපේක්ෂක අනුර කුමාර දිසානායකට ඡන්දයදී ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ පරාජය කිරිමීට වැඩිම හැකියාව ඇති අපේක්ෂකයාට දෙවෙනි මනාපය දීමටය.
කෙසේවුවද ඊයේ (23) රැස්වූ එම පක්ෂයේ මධ්‍යම කාරක සභා රැස්වීමේදී පහත යෝජනාව සම්මත කරගෙන ඇත.

ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ අපේක්ෂකයාට ඡන්දයදී ගෝඨාභය රාජපක්ෂ පරාජය කිරිමීට වැඩිම හැකියාව ඇති අපේක්ෂකයාට දෙවෙනි මනාපය දීමට 26.09.2019 දින මධ්‍යම කාරක සභාව ගත් තීරණය අනුව ජාතික ජන බලවේගයේ අපේක්ෂකයාට සහාය දීමට යම් පාක්ෂිකයෙකු කටයුතු කරන්නේ නම් ඔහු හෝ ඇය හැකි සෑම අවස්ථාවකදීම එසේ දෙවන මනාපය දෙන ලෙස ජනතාවගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිය යුතුය.”
යෝජනාව සම්මතවූ පසු ලාල් විජේනායක සහෝදරයා ලේකම් ධූරයෙන් ඉල්ලා අස්වූ අතර බස්නාහිර පළාත් සභාවේ හිටපු මන්ත්රී කීර්ති කාරියවසම් සහෝදරයා ඒකමතිකව එක්සත් වාමාංශික පෙරමුණේ ලේකම් ධූරයට පත්විය.
Resolution passed at the meeting of the Central Committee of the
United Left Front on 23.10.2019
“The Central Committee of the United Left Front, having considered the clear and present danger to Sri Lankan democracy from Gotabhaya Rajapakse and the extremist forces behind him, calls upon party members and the general public to support the candidate of the New Democratic Front contesting under the Swan symbol who is the candidate most capable of defeating Gotabhaya Rajapakse.
If any party members wish to support the candidate of the Jathika Jana Balavegaya in accordance with the decision of the Central Committee taken on 26.09.2019 to vote for candidate of the Jathika Jana Balavegaya and cast the second preference to the candidate most capable of defeating Gotabhaya Rajapakse, he or she could do so but must, at every possible occasion, call open the people to cast their second preference as aforesaid.”
After the resolution was passed, Comrade Lal Wijenayake resigned from the post of Secretary and Comrade Keerthi Kariyawasam, former Member of the Western Provincial Council, was unanimously elected Secretary of the United Left Front.
